Essential Secondary Science Assessment (ESSA) 2009

The Australian Council for Educational Research has been appointed to manage the marking of the extended response component of the Essential Secondary Science Assessment (ESSA) 2009. The training and marking will commence on 2 December 2009 and proceed until 12 December 2009 or until completed.

Weekday marking will be conducted in the evenings ONLY from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm commencing on Wednesday 2 December and concluding on Saturday 12 December 2009. Saturday marking (5 and 12 Dec) will be conducted from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

It is anticipated that marking will take place in four locations. The main centre will be located at the ACER office in Alexandria, Sydney. Three smaller centres are planned for Wagga Wagga, Orange and Lismore which will operate under local conditions.

Preference will be given to practicing Stage 4 Science teachers. No previous experience in large scale marking operations is necessary.
