ACER India Partners
Azim Premji Foundation
In 2008, ACER signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Azim Premji Foundation, an Indian not-for-profit company working in the area of elementary education to achieve quality universal education. In the agreement, the organisations agreed to collaborate in programs and initiatives which will apply international best practices in educational research and development to support school improvement and learning outcomes in India.
Educational exchanges will occur in 2008, with an ACER staff from Melbourne visiting the Foundation with the India office Manager for a workshop and meetings in July, and a team from the Foundation to visit ACER Melbourne later in the year.
Shiksangan Foundation
Shikshangan Foundation is a member of the Wipro Applying Thought in Schools network, an initiative of Wipro Corporation to improve the quality of education in India. Their foundation is providing support to schools in re-designing their curriculum, helping teachers upgrade their capability - especially in delivering this re-defined curriculum - and helping schools track student learning.
Devika Nadig (Managing Trustee) and Vijay Gupta (Director) of Shiksangan have been trained by ACER to deliver selected modules of ACER. Shikshangan is now accredited by Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to conduct ACER-certified courses for teacher and school leaders.
