Asian Network of Training and Research Institutions in Educational Planning (ANTRIEP)
ACER is a member institution of the Asian Network of Training and Research Institutions in Educational Planning. ANTRIEP was formed in 1995 with the aim of facilitating increased interaction between a number of Asian institutions that are involved in training and research in educational planning and management and to help them engage in cooperative activities. ANTRIEP is supported by the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP).
Asia Pacific Educational Research Association (APERA)
ACER is a founding member of APERA, which was founded in Bangkok in 2001 with the goal of increasing collaboration in educational research.
Asia-Pacific Program of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID)
ACER is an affiliated centre of APEID, which is a UNESCO regional inter-country cooperative program. APEID describes its main objectives as:
International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA)
ACER is a primary member of IAEA, which is a global forum with members comprising of examining bodies, university departments, research organisations and government agencies from more than 50 countries. IAEA has consultative status with UNESCO in the achievement of mutual goals. As a non-governmental organisation (NGO), IAEA plays an active part in UNESCO activities which are increasingly addressing assessment and evaluation issues.
International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA)
ACER is an institutional member of the IEA, which is is an independent, international cooperative of national research institutions and governmental research agencies. The IEA is best known for conducting a range of major international comparative studies including the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and the International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS).
ACER has bilateral agreements with the following organisations internationally:
Azim Premji Foundation, India
ACER and Azima Premji Foundation, an Indian not-for-profit company working with teachers and education administrators to achieve quality universal education, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2008, agreeing to collaborate in programs and initiatives which will apply international best practices in educational research and development to support school improvement and learning outcomes in India.
Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training, UAE
ACER signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CERT in May 2006, agreeing to work to together to develop and provide learning and professional development opportunities in the field of education, teaching and training.
Korean Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation
ACER and KICE signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2000, during KICE founding President Dr Do-Soon Park's visit to ACER. The MOU outlines an agreement to develop cooperatuin in educational research and training between the two organisations, based on the similar roles they play in their respective countries.
