International Schools' Assessment

What schools say about the ISA

"Perhaps it is important for you to know that ISA became one of the most valuable indicators for the Board of the Moscow Economic School of our students' development. Now ISA is compulsory for all the MES students. We also built the ISA results into the MES teacher's appraisal system. We are really happy that ISA became very important part of our professional life."

Yuri Shamilov
President
Moscow Economic School

"Our school has been asked to take part in a couple of exhibitions to promote international learning in Korea . Currently, the authorities do not recognize external examinations such as the IB Diploma for university entrance, although it is hoped to soon change this. We would like to use the ISA tests as part of our advertising about the quality and high standards of international education, e.g. how they are used by so many international schools, how they are culture-free and how they are benchmarked. It would be a great help to us if we could receive some information from you so that we can show how good the ISAs are and how they are much more meaningful than country-based tests such as IOWA."

Stephen Palmer
Principal
International School of Busan

"The ISA has become an important external measure of our school's performance and is part of our strategic measurable objectives. The design of the ISA and its focus on literacy and processes is also a valuable indicator of our learner qualities such as problem solvers."

Mark Jenkins
Curriculum and Professional Development Coordinator
Jakarta International School

"I am so pleased to see a 'standardised assessment' that reflects good teaching practices. Teaching to this test is not an issue. If you engage in good teaching practices all year children are prepared. Thank you."

Grade 4 Teacher
International School of Aberdeen

"Again the test results help us to address the needs of our students and improve our programme. We find the general test a good tool to show future parents that we have way of monitoring our development which is objective to us. We look forward to working with you again in October."

Malcolm Davis
Director
International School of Bremen

"ISA is a big part of the future of international education and any time I can be of support let me know."

Kevin Bartlett
Director
International School of Brussels

"We are set here at NJIS, the information has been downloaded and now being analyzed for presentations to the faculty and the parents. Personally, I have been impressed with the amount of specific data outlined in the reports, and the obvious curriculum connection that can be made from all of the levels of skills and knowledge. . .Thanks for all of your assistance, I do believe the ISA is a positive addition to the NJIS program."

Allan "Buck" Forslund
Former Headmaster
North Jakarta International School

"Just as an FYI for you and others at ACER, we piloted the ISA this year to examine its suitability to our population. Yesterday I recommended to the administrative team that we adopt it for next year including the soon to be released exams for grades 4, 6, and 8, replacing the Stanford Achievement Test which we have administered for several years. This decision was prompted not only because of the quality of the assessment and the wonderful array of results provided, but also because of the promptness of responding to our questions and needs. Thank you, it has been a joy working with you all during this exploratory period."

Allen Hughes
Former Director of Curriculum
The American School of the Hague

"We appreciated the feedback from the tests and found your program very satisfactory."
