I’m not sure which order to put my names in.
There's no test centre where I live. Can I arrange for a special sitting nearer to home?

I've received two copies of the same confirmation email. Have I paid twice?
I have changed my email address and I have not received my result, what should I do?
I use a few email addresses but I have forgotten which one I used for ISAT. What should I do?
I have sat for ISAT before, and don't seem able to progress past the pre-registration page. What should I do?
There must be six calendar months between your sittings of ISAT. The pre-registration page is to remind you of that, so when you check the box "I have not sat the ISAT test within 6 months of my intended test session" you know that you must choose a sitting which is six months ahead of your last test date.
I’m not sure which order to put my names in.
In Australia, your ‘family name’ can also be referred to as your ‘surname’ or your ‘last name’. Your ‘given names’ can also be referred to as ‘first and second names’ or sometimes as ‘christian names’. The ISAT online registration system asks for your family name, then your given names. If you have an anglicised given name as well as your original given names, enter that after your legal names.
There's no test centre where I live. Can I arrange for a special sitting nearer to home?
No. The test centres are established at the start of the testing year. Many ISAT candidates will have to travel to take the test.
What will happen if I enter the wrong date for my previous sitting of ISAT?
You will have wasted your money if you sit for the test within six months. Our database records the correct date of your previous sitting, as soon as your results for the second sitting go into the database, we will be alerted that an illegal second sitting has taken place, and the second set of results will be immediately withdrawn. In those circumstances there is no refund of test fees, and you may not sit the test again until six months after your second sitting.
I checked the list of test dates at the centre of my choice before starting to register, but once in the registration system, some of those dates are not available. What’s happened?
There are a couple of circumstances which could cause this.
- Firstly, you may have entered that you have sat for ISAT previously. The database will therefore only offer you test dates that are six months after the date you entered as your last test date.
- Secondly, the test sitting may have reached maximum capacity and has been withdrawn since you checked the list of test dates.
- Thirdly, you may be a very late candidate, and have missed the deadline. Test sittings close at 5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time two weeks prior to the test date.
I paid my test fee by credit card, but something strange happened during the transaction, and I’m not sure if it has gone through, or not. Should I register again?
NO! Wait for about an hour, and check your email to see if the receipt has come through. If you’ve received a receipt and a ‘confirmation of registration’ email, then everything is fine. If you received only one or neither of those two emails, then you should contact the ISAT office on isat@acer.edu.au to enquire about your transaction. Should you ignore this advice duplicate registrations are refunded in full after our confirmation with the credit card payment provider (this can take up to two weeks).
I've received two copies of the same confirmation email. Have I paid twice?
If the candidate ID number on both emails is the same, you have only paid once. On some browsers, refreshing the screen or using the 'save as' function will be interpreted as another call to the server, thus generating another email.
If the candidate ID number on both emails is different, please contact the ISAT office on isat@acer.edu.au, immediately, you have paid twice. Duplicate registrations will be refunded in full.
I’ve changed my mind about the date or the centre that I want to sit at. Can I transfer to another sitting?
Yes, just send an email to the ISAT office on isat@acer.edu.au and give your full name, date of birth, the details of the sitting you registered for, and the ISAT candidate ID on your ‘confirmation of registration’ email. Ask for the change you want, and we will endeavour to transfer you if there is still availability at the new date or centre, and if you have met the deadline of two weeks prior to the test.
In most circumstances, results are available about two weeks after the test. However, this will be longer for some of the first sittings in the year. DO NOT contact the ISAT office to nag about results until three clear weeks after your test sitting, and you have checked the inbox and the spam email box of the email address you provided on the registration form.
The ISAT office will send you an email with a weblink and instructions on how you can access your own results. Your email address is very important, so we recommend you register using an address that you often use and is trustworthy. If you have a Hotmail or Yahoo address, you should put isat@acer.edu.au in your address book so your email provider will recognise it. If you haven’t received your results, you should check your junk mail folder before emailing the ISAT office to ask for assistance. You should print out a copy of your results for your own records. The universities will also have access to your results through ACER’s website.
I have changed my email address and I have not received my result, what should I do?
If you have changed your email address, please email the ISAT office at isat@acer.edu.au immediately, so that we can send you result notification to the correct email address. Verification of your identity will be required in order to confirm the change.
I use a few email addresses but I have forgotten which one I used for ISAT. What should I do?
If you have forgotten which email address you used to register, please check all your email address to find out which one you received the ISAT receipt and/or confirmation email from. Please DO NOT contact the ISAT office as we will not disclose your email address to you unless you request to change it. Verification of your identity will be required in order to confirm the change.
