When ISAT was first developed, it was trial tested on a diverse sample of international students with encouraging results
- ISAT provides valid and reliable measures of reasoning
- ISAT provides good discrimination between international candidates
- ISAT scores are relatively independent of English language levels
- ISAT is free of gender bias

Research
An extensive research project examined the relationship between ISAT scores and final year of school results 2003 – 2005 in the following programs:
- International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Canadian International Matriculation Program (CIMP)
- Western Australian Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE)
- South Australian Matriculation program (S.A.M.)
- An Australian university Foundation Year Program (FYP)
