International Student Admissions Test
Results
Results are available approximately two weeks after the test. However, this will be longer for some of the first sittings in the year. Please DO NOT contact the ISAT office to ask about results until three clear weeks after your test sitting, and you have checked the inbox and the spam email box of the email address you provided on the registration form. If you find that you do have to enquire about your results, please include your full name, date of birth, and ISAT Candidate ID number in your enquiry.
Accessing results
Candidates can view and print out their own results statement from the internet. You should print out a copy of your results for your own records.
The ISAT office will send you an email with a weblink and instructions on how you can access your test results. Your email address is very important, so we recommend you register using an address that you use often and is trustworthy. If you have a Hotmail or Yahoo address, you should put isat@acer.edu.au in your address book so your email provider will recognise it.
If you have changed your email address, please email the ISAT office at isat@acer.edu.au immediately, so that we can send your result notification email to the correct email address. Verification of your identity will be required in order to confirm the change.
Universities have access to ISAT results after each sitting.
ISAT scores
ISAT candidates are provided with a Critical Reasoning (CR) score, a Quantitative Reasoning (QR) score and an Overall Reasoning (OR) score, each on a scale of 100 to 200. Use of the scaled score enables scores from the test in different versions and different years to be directly compared. The Overall score is an average of the CR and QR scores.
To give meaning to the scaled scores, percentile ranks are also provided. The percentile shows the percentage of the ISAT population who have achieved up to a particular score. For example, in 2007 a student with a QR score of 176 had a percentile rank of 82, meaning that their score is higher than that achieved by 82% of those taking the test. The candidate is thus within the top 20% of the test-taking population. Percentile ranks will change as different candidates take the test. However, the ISAT score will remain comparable, as it is anchored between test forms and across years.
Viability of results
Results are valid for two years. Candidates may only resit ISAT after six months from the previous sitting has elapsed. For example, if a candidate sat for ISAT on 10 May, then he/she could resit for the test after 10 November. If a candidate has more than one result in the ACER database, the university will have access to all sets of scores.
Appeals
ACER will not enter into appeals against ISAT results once they have been released. Candidates are advised that ISAT results are released only after careful calculation and extensive checking. Errors in scoring are highly unlikely.
Requests for re-marking will not be considered. Nor is it possible to give special consideration for impaired performance on the day of the test caused by illness or other unexpected personal situations.
Please note that candidates will not be provided with any additional information regarding scores or the scoring process. All information remains the property of ACER and the candidate has no right of inspection. Candidates sign their agreement to these conditions on the front cover of the test booklet and on the answer sheet.
