Interview with Yana Gotmaker

Marketing Manager

Joining us in early 2009, Yana brings a wealth of experience in marketing, media and communications. Having worked for a number of renowned creative agencies in both Melbourne and New York, she has developed creative concepts for some of the world’s biggest and most recognisable brands. With impressive commercial acumen and a friendly smile, Yana leads our Marketing team to victory with passion and flair.

Let’s get to know our creative mastermind a little better…

Yana, what do you do in your role?

YG: What does the marketing department do?! Good question. What don’t we do? In a nutshell, we work across ACER to develop ongoing, integrated marketing campaigns.

I try to make the work as creative and as varied as possible to keep the team stimulated and keep their creative juices flowing.

What do you love most about your role?

YG: I love the creative aspects, I love the team, I really appreciate the variety of work.

HR Helper: That’s a lot of love!

What are some of the challenges of your role?

YG: There’s no great place for an affordable sandwich in Camberwell. Apart from that – everything is great!

HR Helper: Amen to that! Perhaps we should try the cafés near our Delhi office...?

How did you end up in your current field?

YG: I studied marketing, worked in advertising for years and here I am!

HR Helper: You make it sound so easy, however, I know there is a bit more to it than that. After graduating, Yana’s skills were applied to brands that include Nike, Optus, Mazda, Qantas, BHP, BMW, AMEX…and the list goes on forever, but now she gets to add ACER!!

How would you describe ACER, its culture and its people?

YG: The culture of respecting and encouraging the staff work/life balance is one of the greatest things about working at ACER.

I really like the diverse background of the staff members and admire the incredibly important work that is done by this organisation.

When you’re not busy enjoying life at ACER, what keeps you occupied?

YG: My girls!
