      <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Assessment and Reporting &ndash; Mathematics/Numeracy</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to work on a range of mathematics/numeracy projects based in the Melbourne office. Mathematics teaching experience of at least five years is essential and experience teaching Primary and/or Early Years mathematics/numeracy is an advantage.</p>
<p>At the Research Fellow level you will be developing mathematics/numeracy assessment and reporting materials with the possibility of completing related work such as curriculum and assessment evaluations. Senior Research Fellows have a high level of demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of assessment-related projects. At this level you will be expected to lead and support project teams in the development of mathematics assessment materials, to provide conceptual leadership in the area of mathematics assessment and to contribute to professional publications such as report writing.</p>
<p>In addition to teaching experience, candidates should be able to provide evidence of: a strong interest in mathematics education and assessment; knowledge of how students learn; ability to write creatively, logically and clearly, and to work to deadlines. A higher degree (or equivalent) in mathematics/numeracy education is strongly desirable. Ideally applicants will have excellent IT skills with experience of computer-based assessment and learning tools and be familiar with current school mathematics curricula, resources and research related to effective educational practice.</p>
<p>This opportunity is for an initial period of one year, with commencement to be negotiated with the successful candidate. Salary is within the range of $78,611 to $127,350 (pro rata if applicable) plus superannuation, depending on experience.</p>]]></description>
