Being a school leader is at once a very rewarding and engaging job, yet sometimes an isolating experience. Because of the demands of stakeholders and the relentless pressure to deal with immediate issues, school leaders can neglect their own need for professional reflection and development. Most Principals and other school leaders would attest that there is no shortage of performance feedback, even at times unsolicited! The real challenge is to gain balanced, objective feedback on behaviours that are key to effective educational leadership.
The ELFI has been designed to allow Principals, Assistant Principals and aspirant leaders to gain unfiltered feedback from a range of sources. The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) collaborates with Full Circle Feedback in the delivery of the 360-degree feedback survey instrument.
ACER undertook a comprehensive survey development process, involving teams of principals, peers, staff, school parents and other stakeholders, in shaping the 360° instrument. The Psychometric Analysis completed by ACER validated the ELFI is a robust survey instrument with a very high reliability rating. Full Circle Feedback has a strong background in implementing 360-degree feedback processes for leaders in a wide range of industries, including education. We are confident that ELFI will result in being a very useful multi source feedback survey instrument to assist educational leaders to maximize their potential.
