Bringing it all Together

Bringing it all Together: The Foundation Skills Training Package

Presenters: Claire Wright, TAFE NSW and Louise Wignall, IBSA

Friday, 10 May 2013

Breakout Session 2, 11.30 – 12:30pm

The introduction of the Foundation Skills Training Package has the potential to bring significant change to the delivery of vocational education and training (VET). Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA) believe that the new training package will encourage and enable greater collaboration between VET practitioners and LLN specialists – and increased attention to the skill development needs of individual learners. The Foundation Skills Training Package, and the workforce capacity building that will be required for its implementation, will be a key enabler of the National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults.

Over the last few years, IBSA has been instrumental in creating workforce development solutions for the VET sector. These solutions will underpin successful implementation of the Foundation Skills Training Package, but are also important for broader workforce development. This workshop will show how RTOs can ‘bring it all together’ to build their capacity to integrate foundation skills – including LLN – into VET programs and provide valued and meaningful outcomes for their learners.
