Breakout Session 5, 11.30 – 12:30pm

This presentation will discuss and highlight the issue of how essential it is for private RTOs to address the LLN issue from both a good practice and a compliance perspective. Addressing adult language, literacy and numeracy in relation to meeting access and equity obligations and in the up skilling of trainer’s LLN expertise and understanding are becoming part of the requirements of being an RTO. However, addressing a learner’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy needs is also part of good teaching and assessment practice and enhances the outcomes for both the learner and the RTO. The speakers will share their knowledge and insights as to how the issue of LLN can be best addressed by private RTOs.
