Breakout Session 2, 1.30 - 2:30pm

A number of dual sector tertiary institutions have undertaken an initial assessment of the LLN skills of their student intakes. These have been implemented in different ways across the range of institutions. Many have now tested 1000s of their students and have analysed the data and reports made available through this testing process. The institutions have also implemented different strategies and approaches for how they deal with any skills gaps identified.

This presentation will look at some of these different models of LLN assessment practices, how they have been built in to the ongoing processes of the organisation, how the results have been analysed and what they have highlighted, and how different programs have been introduced that support learners in the core skills development.
