Breakout Session 6, 11.30 – 12:30pm

This presentation will focus on the benefits of the Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) program – how it works, what the benefits are and the funding models available for RTOs.  The WELL Program was introduced in 1991, and supports the integration of LLN training within vocational training delivered in the workplace The main aim of the WELL Program is to assist organisations to train workers in English language, literacy and numeracy skills. Some of the issues to be presented and discussed include:

  • How do participating employers rate WELL and what do they see as the benefits in the workplace, both in terms of workplace productivity issues, OH&S and participation in further training?
  • How do you access funding, what programs and options are available for support?
  • What are some examples of good practice in both delivery and resource development?
