Neuropsychiatry Unit Cognitive Assessment Tool (NUCOG), by Mark Walterfang and
Dennis Velakoulis due in August

Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales, Fifth Edition (SB5) workshops, Sydney

Sb5Eirini Lammi, ACER's Sydney Consultant has been busy presenting training workshops to School Counsellors on the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales (SB5). The format of the workshop covered a brief introduction, administration, scoring and interpretation. The School Counsellors also had an opportunity to use the resource and then have an informal discussion about specific case studies. The overall comments of the workshop were very positive.

PsychProfiler workshops, Sydney

PsychProfilerACER Sydney proudly sponsored two workshops in February 2008 conducted by the chief author of PsychProfiler, Dr Shane Langsford. The workshops were attended by psychologists from different fields including the Department of Education and Training, Anglicare, Westmead Children’s Hospital and private practitioners. The attendees were very appreciative to have an opportunity to meet the author in person and excited about the applications of PsychProfiler in the various professional settings.

teacher parentTeacher-Parent Collaboration outlines how teachers can respond to the needs of parents whose sons or daughters have disabilities or chronic illness, are gifted learners, are displaying disruptive or aggressive behaviour (including bullying) at school, or whose families are enduring adversity or child neglect or abuse.

This book describes how teachers can collaborate with parents to resolve these challenges to improve the children's functioning and achievement throughout their education years.

About the Author
Dr Louise Porter PhD, MA (Hons), M.Gifted.Ed, Dip.Ed is a child psychologist and trained teacher with almost 30 years' experience working with young children, their parents and educators. She has published widely and is currently an adjunct senior lecturer in Education at Flinders University, South Australia.
