Inventory of Altered Self-Capacities (IASC)

Purpose: To assess difficulties in relatedness, identity and affect control
Candidates: 18+ years of age
Administration: 10-15 minutes - Individual and group
Features:
- Contributes to a comprehensive assessment of adult psychopathology
- Facilitates assessment of critical psychological issues with individuals who have personality-level difficulties and/or a history of significant childhood trauma
The 63-item IASC is a self-report measure of an individual's psychological functioning, consisting of seven scales that measure disturbances in:
- Relatedness - Interpersonal Conflicts, Idealization-Disillusionment, Abandonment Concerns
- Identity - Identity Impairment, Susceptibility to Influence
- Affect regulation - Affect Dysregulation,Tension Reduction Activities
Test results help to identify specific targets for treatment, predict potential problems that may arise during psychotherapy, and provide clinical data to corroborate diagnostic hypotheses.
