National Civic and Citizenship Education Assessment Project 2004, 2007 and 2010

Description:

The National Assessment Program: Civics and Citizenship Sample Assessment 2010 involves a national sample of students at Year 6 and Year 10 levels. The project involves equating the data to the 2004 and 2007 results and reporting students’ achievements and any changes over the three assessment cycles in civics and citizenship against the proficiency bands and the standard established as part of the first cycle of national assessment in Year 6 and Year 10 civics and citizenship. As was the case for previous studies, the report describes students’ civics and citizenship proficiency on a scale that extends from Year 4 to Year 10. Information is gathered on student background so that relationships between performance and student background can be described. Main Study testing will be conducted in October 2010. Reporting and dissemination of materials are planned for 2011.
