Basic Education in Mindanao (BEAM)

Description:

This project is a consultancy to educational regions in Mindanao, Philippines.  The objectives are to promote awareness of the need to develop system wide assessment of student learning outcomes and to assist in the establishment of an education monitoring program in science, mathematics and reading. ACER will conduct awareness raising workshops in Mindanao and then work with education staff to determine a blueprint for assessment of student learning outcomes and select appropriate items from adapted ACER instruments. Baseline data will be collected in September 04. To facilitate capacity building a group of staff will attend extended training at ACER later in the year.
