ACER conducted a national survey to examine the career intentions and report on the extent of teaching preparation provided to higher degree by research students in Australian universities. A core component of this study involved a survey of Australian-based HDR students, known as the National Research Student Survey (NRSS). This project involved all but one Australian University, and yielded key insights for better planning for Australia’s future academic workforce. ACER collaborated with the Centre for Study or Higher Education at the University of Melbourne.
