Numeracy Abilities of Indigenous Children

Description:

The objective of this DEST-funded project was to provide a discussion paper that synthesised existing research and draw out key findings on Indigenous students’ numeracy capabilities and experiences, giving particular attention to their spatial abilities. Contents of the paper informed a working party of the Australian Education Systems Officials Committee (AESOC) which developed a revised set of Indigenous education priorities for States and Territories. The report was completed in mid October 2005 (Purdie & Frigo, 2005).
