The ACER Progressive Achievement Tests in Reading (PAT R) is a set of four reading tests and four vocabulary tests for use with students from Year 3 to Year 9. This project will extend the scope of the reading tests so that they can be used with students from Year 2 to Year 10. An vocabulary test for use at Year 10 and a set of four spelling tests will be developed also. The stimulus material for the reading tests will be updated to expand the range of text types and scope of reading skills being assessed. Normative data for all the tests will be collected at the end of 2007. Revised manuals with separate scales for reading, vocabulary and spelling plus percentile rank and stanine tables will be published in 2008.
