This project relates to the fourth administration of this major international comparative survey involving some 66 countries, and is essentially a continuation of previous PISA surveys since 2000. The major domains were Reading in 2000 and 2009, Mathematics in 2003 and Science in 2006. ACER has the contract with the OECD to deliver the major portion of this PISA survey in 2009, and is working with consortium partners Westat Inc, cApStAn Linguistic Quality Control Agency, Service for Experimental and Theoretic Pedagogy at the University of Liege (aSPe), the Japanese National Institute for Educational Policy Research (NIER), and the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF). ACER and its consortium partners are responsible for cognitive instrument development, sampling, instrument translation verification, survey operations, training of national teams of all international participants, data processing and analysis, and some reporting functions.
