The purpose of the Quality of Pre-Service Teacher Education Survey is to collect and analyse data, from the perspective of DE&T as an employer, which will provide information on the effectiveness of pre-service courses in preparing graduate teachers for teaching in DE&T schools. Principals in Victorian government schools have major responsibilities in recruiting and deploying teachers in their schools, and in delivering the DE&T curriculum and other programs. Their perceptions of graduate teacher quality will, therefore, for the purpose of this study, provide indications of the effectiveness of pre-service courses.
