This project provided in-country training in pilot test development and questionnaire design. Participants from South Africa, Lesotho, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia plus Kuwait and Cambodia attended a two and a half week workshop in Pretoria conducted by George Morgan and Prue Anderson. The project had a hands-on focus with participants producing a test and questionnaire, administering the test in two local schools, and entering and analysing the data. Participating countries are intended to implement their own national assessment pilot program. A three day follow up workshop is planned for August-September 2004.
