ACER will be conducting the Staff in Australia’s Schools (SiAS) survey in August and September. The survey, which is commissioned by DEEWR, is a vital resource for planning the teacher and school leader workforces.
SiAS is an Australia-wide survey to collect information from school teachers and leaders about their background and qualifications, their work, their career intentions, and school staffing issues. The survey involves samples of Primary and Secondary schools in:
• the Government, Catholic and Independent sectors
• all States and Territories
The survey can be done on-line and will only take 15-20 minutes. The data are confidential and no school or teacher will be identified.
If invited by ACER, schools and teachers are encouraged to take part. It is vital that the survey collects data and views from representative samples of schools, teachers and leaders.
The project Advisory Committee includes representatives of government and non-government school employers, principals’ associations, teacher unions, teacher education institutions, and the ABS.
The survey is also supported by the Australian College of Educators (ACE).
