The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey

ACER, along with the Australian Institute of Family Studies, is one of the partner organisations is conducting a longitudinal study of household income dynamics for the Commonwealth Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. This project is a longitudinal study of Australian households that investigates the dynamics of labour market participation, receipt of social benefits and family formation. The lead organization for this project is the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research and the project is directed by Dr Mark Wooden. The survey began in 2001 with an initial sample of 8,000 households. Data collection from subsequent waves provides for analyses and reports for the project.
