Hispanic Families Project

This is a subcontract to provide psychometric support and to conduct growth curve modelling of longitudinal family data in a research project investigating the impact of teen (15-18 yrs) pregnancy on families and sibling. An important aim of the project is to identify the factors and processes that lead to repeated early pregnancies within families. The UCSD researchers are collecting data from 200 Hispanic families via questionnaires and interviews twice during teen pregnancy and at intervals from 6 weeks to 30 months postpartum. Longitudinal analysis of the data will be carried out in Phase 2 of the project.
Phase 1 of the project ended in January 2007. Research proposals to fund Phase 2 of the project have been submitted to the USA Office of Population Affairs and the National Institute of Health (NIH).
