Gina Milgate is an Indigenous Educational Researcher in the Learning Processes Research Program at the Australian Council for Educational Research. Gina holds an undergraduate and post graduate degree in Marketing and Management and a teaching degree in higher education. She is currently undertaking her master’s dissertation in Indigenous Leadership.
Prior to her appointment at ACER in 2006, Gina was an academic at the University of New England for six years where she coordinated and taught in the subject areas of Indigenous organisational management, marketing, strategic planning and management, organisational behaviour, principles of management, marketing management and managing customer relations. During this time, Gina has written and presented conference papers, published in scholarly journals, published a book chapter and delivered motivational key note addresses for an array of audiences. She has also facilitated workshops for high school students in the areas of motivation, personality, building confidence, goal setting, career planning and tips for studying for the Higher School Certificate and consulted with business.
Gina is currently working on the Indigenous Longitudinal Literacy and Numeracy Report, developing an Information Kit for Aboriginal Families with a Child with a Disability in conjunction with Gavin Jones Communications and facilitating the publication of an edited book on Indigenous Education Issues.
