About Dr Glenn Rowley

BSc, BEd (Melbourne), MA, PhD (Toronto)
Prior to retirement Glenn Rowley was Principal Research Fellow in the Teaching, Learning and Leadership program at ACER. He joined ACER in 2006, from a position as General Manager, Measurement, Policy and Research at the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
He has held a number of academic positions - at the University of Toronto (1973-1975), La Trobe University (1975-1982) and at Monash University (1983-2002), where was Associate Dean in the Faculty of Education.
Dr Rowley has published more than 50 articles in national and international journals, including Australian Journal of Education, Journal of Educational Measurement, American Educational Research Journal, American Psychologist, Applied Psychological Measurement and The Lancet. He has also made 33 presentations at research conferences in Australia, England, USA, Canada, and New Zealand.
While at ACER, Dr Rowley was Editor of the Australian Journal of Education and worked on the IEA Teacher Education and Development Study in Mathematics, with primary responsibility for data analysis and reporting.
