Mr John Morath joined ACER in 2000 as the Education Consultant responsible for Assessment Services programs in the schools sector. He advises schools on projects such as those for students possessing higher order thinking skills, be they scholarshiptests or ones designed to screen for entry into gifted programs. Mr Morath also oversees projects for general population such as the Monitoring Skills Development (MSD) program or ACER’s Abstract Reasoning Test.

Prior to his appointment at ACER Mr Morath taught at the secondary level in the Catholic sector, teaching English, Politics, History and Legal Studies. He was a VCE marker of Politics and one of the author’s of a document based Australian History course at year 12. Mr Morath was President of the Victorian Catholic Deputy Principal’s Association for a number of years at a crucial time when it was developing an industrial perspective.
