Dr Kate Reid is a Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Kate completed her Masters in Psychology (Organisational) and her PhD at the University of Melbourne, undertaking research into preschool children’s mathematics learning. She has worked as a researcher in multiple fields, including quantitative and qualitative research projects in areas that include evaluations of government initiatives and community-based programs, and academic research in the area of medical education. Prior to joining ACER, she was involved in a number of health service evaluation consultancies as a researcher at La Trobe University. These evaluations focused on enhancing outcomes for consumers by improving access to services through enhanced integration of service delivery.
Kate has specialist expertise in quantitative analysis and has extensive expertise managing and analysing large, complex datasets. Since joining ACER in 2010, she has worked on developing the monographs for the Longitudinal Literacy and Numeracy Study for Indigenous Students and the Longitudinal Literacy and Numeracy Study, as well as contributing to a number of different program evaluations on curriculum innovations. Recently, she co-authored a discussion paper for the Longitudinal Study for Indigenous Children.
