Dr Sarah Richardson is a Senior Research Fellow in the Higher Education research program at the Australian Council for Educational Research.
Dr Richardson is currently involved in the coordination of the Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes (AHELO) Feasibility Study for the OECD, which reflects her particular interest in international aspects of higher education. Since joining ACER, Dr Richardson has also worked on a number of other research projects and reports on topics as diverse as regional higher education, the experience of international students at Australian universities, teaching training for research higher degree students, the connection between higher education practice and student engagement, the assessment of medical graduates and student evaluations of teaching.
Prior to joining ACER, Dr Richardson was a research fellow in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne, where she also taught across the disciplines of political science, public policy and sociology. She was the Senior Tutor at International House at The University of Melbourne for four years, leading a team of tutors in the academic and pastoral support of residential students. Dr Richardson’s previous experience is in English language teaching, and she was an IELTS examiner for several years.
Dr Richardson holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, a Masters degree from the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands and a Bachelors (Honours) degree from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
