About Dr Sarah Richardson

Dr Sarah Richardson, PhD Melb, MA Amsterdam, BA(Hons) Liverpool, GradCertMktg, RSA Cert TEFL, is Executive Director of the Asia Education Foundation, The University of Melbourne.

Until 2023, Dr Richardson was Research Director, Surveys and International Assessments at the Australian Council for Educational Research. She has held previous roles as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Research Director at ACER UK, and Research Director at ACER India. Dr Richardson has directed a large number of educational research projects around the world in the areas of education policy, international education, graduate employability, 21st century skills and learning outcomes assessment. Clients have included the Asia Pacific Economic Development Secretariat, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Department of Education, the British Council, Global Affairs Canada, the International Baccalaureate Organisation, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, UNICEF and the World Bank. Sarah has worked in the education sector for 28 years and is a former teacher. She has given multiple conference presentations, including as an invited keynote, and is passionate about improving educational outcomes for all learners.
