She is a quantitative methodologist who specializes in psychometrics, measurement issues of educational and psychological constructs, structural equation modelling, multilevel modelling and modelling of longitudinal developmental growth curves.
Currently, her research interests are in psychometrics of measuring change, modelling of progress and change through growth curve methodology and pathways analysis, multilevel modelling of school data and program evaluation.
Prior to this appointment, Dr Khoo was an assistant professor in quantitative psychology at the Psychology Department of Arizona State University, USA.
Before embarking on a research career, Dr Khoo was a secondary school mathematics teacher. Her basic training in mathematics and statistics and experience in teaching expanded into the use of these disciplines in the study of quantitative research methodology and data analysis in education, social science and prevention science research.
