Steve Holden is the Corporate Communications Manager at the Australian Council for Educational Research. Between 2000 and 2011 he was  Chief-of-Staff, Magazines, at ACER Press, responsible for titles including Teacher, Professional Educator and Inside Teaching.  Between 2005 and 2008, he was the Managing Editor of the peer-reviewed journal, the Australian Journal of Education. He has received numerous awards for journalism, including awards from the Melbourne Press Club, the Australian Council of Deans of Education and the Australian Council for Educational Leadership.  His novel, Somebody to Love, was published by the University of Queensland Press in 2010. The Bird in the Egg and other stories, published by Ginnindera Press in 2008, was shortlisted for the Queensland Premier's Literary Awards – Arts Queensland Steele Rudd Award in 2009.
