Dr Van Nguyen is a Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research in the National and International Surveys research program.
Van was appointed to ACER as a Psychometrician in 2002 .Prior to joining ACER; she had been a lecturer in the Hue University and a researcher at Hanoi National Institute for Educational Development, Vietnam for fifteen years.
Her background is Mathematics, Psychology and Education. Her responsibilities include: scaling and fitting statistical models for the analysis of test for psychological and educational testing projects, data analysis, graphical representation of results and reporting.
She has been involved in a number of International, National projects in ACER such as: Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), a large international research project funded by the OECD, Graduate Australian Medical Admission Test Administration for UK (GAMSAT), Graduate Skills Assessment (GSA/BMAT), Science Education Assessment Resources (SEAR), Selective High Schools Test (SHS), Monitoring Skills Development (MSD), Literacy and Numeracy National Assessment (LANNA), Year 12 trial testing (include Australian Scaling Test, General Achievement Test and Special Tertiary Admissions Test) and NSW Test for Year 5 Opportunity Classes (OCP).
