Dr. Wolfram Schulz is the Research Director of ACER’s International Surveys program and has been working at ACER since 2001. He has a university degree in Political Science and is Doctor of Economic and Social Sciences (University of Rostock). Prior to joining ACER, Dr Schulz worked for three years as Associate International Co-ordinator of the IEA Civic Education Study and was co-author of its international report and co-editor of its technical report.
Dr Schulz is familiar with a wide range of statistical software and has experience in the analysis of large-scale survey data, sampling procedures and item response modelling methods. He is giving advice on sampling, scaling and statistical analysis to external clients as well as project staff across the organisation and has supervised data analytic work for a number of national and international large-scale surveys (including the international OECD PISA surveys and numerous national assessments in Australia).
Currently, Dr. Schulz is Research Director of the International Study Centre of the IEA International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS), which assessed learning outcomes of civic and citizenship education in 38 countries in 2008 and 2009 and co-director of the national Civics and Citizenship Education Assessment Project 2010. In addition, he is the assessment coordinator of the IEA International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS).
