Ms Michelle Anderson

Michelle Anderson is a Senior Research Fellow in the Teaching Learning and Leadership program area at ACER. She joined the organisation in 2005 after two years abroad as a researcher with the National College for School Leadership in England. Prior to that, she was the Executive Manager of the Royal Children’s Hospital Education Institute in Victoria. Her work at ACER includes co-authoring Standards for School Leadership (for Teaching Australia) and the Australian Country Background Report for the OECD’s Improving School Leadership Activity (for DEST); reviewing co-principal models of leadership for the South Australian Voices of Women Board and research for The Smith Family on the post school plans of young people; CARRICK on Academic leadership. She has published widely, with forthcoming co-authored publications in ACER’s Educational Dialogue Series: Learning for leadership and International Handbook of the Preparation and Development of School Leaders. Currently, Michelle is doing her PhD with the University of London, Institute of Education, examining Leading Teacher leadership in multi-campus schools. Her research interests are inclusive education, school leadership, professional learning and change.
