Ms Wendy Dick
Research Fellow/ Markers Coordinator

Ms Wendy Dick is a Research Fellow in Assessment Services and Marking Operations Coordinator at the Australian Council for Educational Research.
Her main responsibilities within ACER Assessment Services include managing ACER Developmental Assessment Resource for Teachers (DART) assessment programs for clients ranging from single schools to System full cohorts. Ms Dick also manages the International Benchmark Tests in Mathematics and Science and the South Australian Test of Students with High Intellectual Potential.
A major focus of her current work is supervising casual markers as Marking Operations Coordinator.
At ACER, Ms Dick supervised the Year 3 component of the 1995 National School English Literacy Survey Trial and helped organise professional development. She was Operations Manager for the 1996 National School English Literacy Survey. She and her assistant organised the sample of 450 schools and well over 8000 students. She was involved, as part of the team, in most aspects of the Survey - materials, training, teacher queries, assessment checking, data and questionnaire analysis and the report. Her current work includes participation in materials development, and research into literacy and testing in general.
Ms Dick joined ACER’s humanities team in 1995. An experienced teacher and educational administrator, she had taught a range of subjects at all levels from Prep to Year 12, with some overseas experience. As a teacher of the Year 12 compulsory subject, English, for eighteen years, she implemented at her school the various changes in curriculum and assessment which were introduced in Victoria during that period. She was English Co-ordinator at her college and is a member of VATE. Concurrently with her teaching responsibilities, Ms Dick was College Deputy Principal for 12 years and Co-Principal for three years.
In addition, Ms Dick is Chair of the Council of a girls' college and Chair of the Anglican Diocesan Historical Society.
