Dr Larry Foster

Dr Larry Foster is the Manager, Corporate and Vocational Program at the Australian Council for Educational Research. In this position Dr Foster is responsible for the management and development of  a range of  high quality selection programs specifically geared to the needs of vocational education and training as well as corporate groups within Australia and internationally.

The role includes marketing, business development, client liaison, as well as project management for the development, administration, analysis and reporting of results. Assessment services are available in both on line and paper based formats to the vocational education and training system.

Dr Foster came to ACER following fourteen years at Holmesglen Institute of TAFE where he undertook a wide range of management responsibilities including:

    • Director of Studies, Language Centre
    • Program Delivery Manager, Applied Science
    • Manager, Vocational Education Development Unit
    • Course Leader, Vocational Education Graduate Programs

Dr Foster also has extensive international experience across Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands as Project Team Leader, Curriculum Advisor (for AusAID) and Project Director on a range of aid programs.

Dr Foster’s teaching background was in the field of English as a Second Language and teacher training.  Dr Foster has also lectured extensively in the field of vocational education and training as well as cross-cultural communication.

Dr Foster has had extensive experience in the promotion of vocational education and training and is considered to be a leading figure within the system.  His expertise extends to the ability to structure, manage and operate successfully within complex national and international partnership arrangements.
