Workshop A - e-Engagement: Using technology to engage students as higher education is transformed by eLearning
Monday, 29 October 2012, 9:00am - 1:00pm
Fee: $589 incl. GST

This workshop will focus on understanding new patterns of student engagement as online delivery plays a greater role in university delivery models and students participate in more diverse ways. Participants will be invited to consider the ways in which technology might provide one avenue for building effective student participation and engagement. The goals of the workshop are to build a new conceptual model for student engagement that recognises the powerful academic and social connectivity of technology and to develop a set of practical strategies that institutions and academics might adopt. Participants will benefit from a deep exploration of new possibilities.

Facilitators:

Richard James is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Participation and Engagement) and Director, Centre for the Study of Higher Education, University of Melbourne. He holds a Chair in higher education and is a prominent researcher and commentator on higher education policy in Australia. He is a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders.
