CSPA Test Components

Read more about the individual test components of the Core Skills Profile for Adults by clicking on the relevant links below.

Organisations can select from any of the test components and combine them to suit the needs of their learners.

Test Time

Reading and numeracy requires test takers to answer 25 questions in about 30 minutes for each test. Individuals tested for writing are presented with question prompts where they interact directly with the assessment, typing into a web-based system. Responses are marked using the latest Intellimetric® essay scoring technology. This component should take up to 30 minutes. Abstract and Mechanical Reasoning are multiple choice tests of 20 items each, and should take up to 20 minutes for each test.
