A team of research and support staff have developed and analysed the GPS at ACER. Dr Hamish Coates is the GPS Project Director. Other core members of the 2008 GPS team include Dr Daniel Edwards and Ms Ali Radloff. ACER software developers, item writers and psychometrics are also involved in the development. The team brings together individuals with considerable expertise in the design and management of large-scale education surveys. The ACER GPS team can be contacted on gps@acer.edu.au. The 2008 GPS is overseen by a DEEWR Advisory Group.
