The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is developing an online survey instrument aligned to the Learner Profile. This is being done independently by ACER without any input from the International Baccalaureate Organisation

The survey is designed to offer IB schools an instrument that will objectively assess the values and considerations that underpin the learner profile.

It will also give students the opportunity to reflect upon their commitment to the learner profile and help them determine the effect it is having on their values and development.

Finally, it will provide IB schools with data to inform the integration of the learner profile within and across schools, regions etc.

The survey will consist of 150 statements, 15 per dimension from the Learner Profile.

There will be two versions, one for the PYP, one for the MYP and DP. Both will assess the same attributes. However, the PYP survey will have language appropriate for those students, the other using language appropriate for older students in the MYP or DP.

All statements in the survey will have gone through a rigorous selection process, including extensive trialling.

The survey will be delivered online in English, French, and Spanish.

Schools will determine when and with whom they administer the survey. The program will generate data on their school, along with comparative data with like schools, schools in their region and schools globally.
