Individual Student Report

Measures of Student Development (MSD)

An additional service of the MSD program is the provision of an Individual Student Report.  Each is printed in the dominant colour of the school’s crest on 200 gsm stock with a marbled appearance. Download Sample Report.

The student report provides a:

  • brief description of the nature of the V, Q and A components in the test
  • series of descriptors detailing skill levels
  • legend explaining how to read the report
  • graphic display of an individual’s performance at a particular sitting on verbal, quantitative and (if required) abstract reasoning abilities.  An overall assessment of General Reasoning across the curriculum (GR) is reported as well.

Performances are grouped into six ranges of scale scores using (for secondary schools) the following Broad Performance Level Descriptors:

 Level 6: scores 130 – 150

Excellent grasp of secondary school level skills – deals effectively with subtle and complex tasks.

Level 5: scores 110 – 129

Sound grasp of secondary school level skills – deals effectively with challenging tasks.

Level 4: scores 90 – 109

Satisfactory grasp of secondary school level skills – deals effectively with a broad range of tasks.

Level 3: scores 70 – 89

Developing grasp of secondary school level skills – deals effectively with a broadening range of tasks.

Level 2: scores 50 – 69

Beginning level grasp of secondary school level skills – deals effectively with basic tasks.

Level 1: scores less than 50

Secondary school entry-level skills not consistently established or insufficient material attempted.
