Fees for Overseas Sittings of STAT
The following Registration Fees are payable to ACER:
STAT Multiple Choice / STAT F (Overseas Sittings):
AUD$248.00 + local test centre fee
STAT Written English (Overseas Sittings):
AUD$82.00 + local test centre fee
Payment
ACER uses a secure carrier for its online payment functions to act as its interface with the banking system. Credit card and accompanying personal details are not recorded or stored by ACER but are encrypted at point of capture and transmitted directly to the bank. Thus you can be assured this is a safe payment method.
When your registration is complete, you should receive two emails:
1. Receipt for your payment
2. A confirmation email which is your test Admissions Ticket.
If these are not received within 24 hours of registering, please contact the STAT Office immediately.
What if I don't have a credit card and cannot get access to one?
We strongly suggest that you purchase a single-use card for online transactions from a bank. If that is not possible, you can still apply to sit for STAT, and on the payment page, choose "AUD bank draft/cheque". This will mean that your registration is 'pending' until payment is received.
To send payment:
1. Print out a copy of the Confirmation of Pending Registration email;
2. Purchase a bank draft in AUD$, payable from a bank which has branches in Australia (The bank draft/cheque should be made payable to 'ACER - STAT');
3. EITHER
i) Take a copy of the receipt of Pending Registration email and the bank draft to the test centre by date of close of registration. The test centre will send your payment to ACER and your registration will be confirmed by email to you.
OR
ii) If you are overseas, send a copy of the receipt of Pending Registration email and the bank draft by COURIER to ACER yourself. Make sure that it will arrive in Australia two weeks before your nominated test date. Do not use the postal system. Ensure you keep a reference number of your consignment item, ACER cannot take responsibility for bank drafts lost in the courier system.
iii) If you are applying for a special sitting in Australia, you should use the postal system to post the bank draft/cheque to ACER. This should arrive by the advertised close of registration. Australia Post is quite reliable, but you should be aware that articles do sometimes go missing in the mail. ACER is not responsible if your bank draft/cheque is not received by our office. If you use Express Post or Registered Post there is a record of the postal item.
Once your bank draft/cheque has been received, your registration will be confirmed by email to you. If you have not received a 'Confirmation of Registration' email by the time registrations close for your selected test date, please email the STAT office immediately at: stat@acer.edu.au.
Deadlines
If you choose to pay by bank draft, then the bank draft must be received either at the test centre or by the ACER office in Australia at the close of registrations. For overseas sittings, this will be two weeks before the test date. For example, if the test date is Friday 25th June, then the bank draft must be received by 5pm on Friday 11th June. There will be no exceptions. For special sittings in Australia, this will be the advertised date shortly before the test.
