You have data collected from assessments - what do you do with it now?
ACER can help you.
Here are some questions which may help you when choosing the type of analysis:
• Do you require support in building skills and capacity in analysing and interpreting data?
• What was the purpose of the assessment?
• Do you require information on student performance to inform teaching practice and improve learning outcomes?
• What type of analysis are you interested in (i.e. group, longitudinal, individual)?
The analysis service is an ongoing service providing analysis, reporting and consulting services for schools and school systems. It can provide teachers and schools with best practice tools and processes for collecting student outcome data systematically, and also provides teachers and schools with best practice tools and processes for monitoring student achievement.
Short term analysis
This analysis is based on one assessment, breaking results into strand, gender, item for group or individual. Examples of these types of reports are:
• Group Diagnostic report
• Rank Diagnostic report
• Summary report
• Percentage Responses report
• Individual report
Group
A "growth" report tracks cohort growth over 2 plus years of sitting the same assessment (a scaled test to allow for this type of measurement).
• Gender
• Class types
• New intakes

Individual
Individual growth of students over time.
A "year level" report analyses year level data (of different cohorts) over 2 plus years to identify patterns within year levels over time.

Low performing students
Low performing students (students whose scores are below the 10th percentile scores) in the matched cohort. The aim of the analysis is to observe whether there is any performance growth of these low performing students in consecutive sittings.
High performing students
High performing students (students whose scores are above the 90th percentile scores) in the matched cohort. The aim of the analysis is to observe whether there is any performance growth (or decline) of these high performing students in consecutive sittings.
Ideal for 2 assessments in the same year (beginning and end of year), monitoring class performance.
