Project Services Coordinator

Kelvin joined us on a casual basis in 2006 whilst studying at University. He works from our Mulgrave office within the Project Services team. After deciding to take on a full time role as Project Services Officer in 2009, Kelvin quickly grew in the role and his capability was recognised early in 2011 when he was promoted into his current role.

Let’s get to know our services superstar a little better…

So Kelvin, what do you do in your role?

KS: It’s a very diverse role. I coordinate Project Services staffing requirements, which includes supervision, planning and delegation of tasks to the PS team and provision of support to our test scorers/markers.

I closely liaise with over 20 projects and Project Directors on the delivery of ACER test materials, data and logistics requirements to suit their specific project needs.  I contribute to the generation of school reports, as well as quotations and invoices for internal and external client groups. I also answer queries from over 200 schools, institutes and companies that use ACER Test Scoring Services and its associated products.

HR Helper: Wow! It sounds like you're a busy man!

What do you love most about your role?

KS: Keeping me on my toes at all times, dealing with a different range of projects and clients. Working with the receptive management and a cohesive team here at Project Services makes work a breeze.

What are some of the challenges of your role?

KS: Every day is different and exciting with a different array of challenges that lies ahead. You never know what you are going to get in the next couple of minutes.

HR Helper: By the sounds of your role, you can say that again!

KS: Every day is different and exciting with a different array of challenges that lies ahead. You never know what you are going to get in the next couple of minutes.

How did you end up in your current field?

KS: I worked as a casual at ACER during my University days. I tried working with various other employers in Engineering but found myself enjoying my work more at ACER, due to the flexible, less rigid and more challenging nature of tasks.

How would you describe ACER, its culture and its people?

KS: A fantastic, fun, fast responding, adaptive nature with strong integrity and good work ethics staffs and leaders within the organisation coupled with a flexible, ever changing working environment.

When you’re not busy enjoying life at ACER, what keeps you occupied? Any hobbies?

KS: Parts modification and fixing cars.

HR Helper: Ah! Now here is a topic on which we can definitely relate, but maybe another time…
